Mutual recognition of general construction induction training cards

This information bulletin provides a guide to mutual recognition of interstate general construction induction training cards (white card). A white card that was issued under a corresponding work health and safety (WHS) law (and remains valid) will be recognised under Regulation 318 of the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Regulations 2011 (the WHS Regulations).

The white cards listed in this bulletin are examples of interstate cards that are valid in the Northern Territory. The examples in this bulletin may not be comprehensive, please contact the interstate authority if you wish to confirm the validity of an interstate card.

It is important to note the following:

  • Mutual recognition is of white cards only and does not extend to mutual recognition by jurisdictions of trainers or the delivery of training;
  • A person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU) must ensure that task induction and site–specific induction training is undertaken as required under Regulation 39 of the WHS Regulations.
