Restaurant owners fined for operating unsafe gas appliances, putting patrons at risk

The owners of a popular Korean restaurant was fined $12,000 this morning in the Darwin Local Court for operating unsafe gas appliances and putting their patrons health and safety at risk.

Body worn cameras for WorkSafe inspectors

Following a successful trial in 2023, body worn cameras (BWC) now form part of NT WorkSafe inspectors’ operational equipment.

Arborist fined $25,000 after wood chipper incident

An Alice Springs arborist has been convicted and fined $25,000 in the Alice Springs Local Court following an incident where a worker was seriously injured after being struck by the hood of a wood chipper which had detached while the machine was operating.

Helicopter company and director charged with reckless conduct for operating unsafe aircraft

NT WorkSafe has charged commercial helicopter company Helibrook Pty Ltd and company director Mr Matthew Nicholas Wright, with breaches of the Northern Territory’s work health and safety laws over their failures to maintain safe aircraft and allowing the aircraft to be operated when unsafe.
