Safety alert issued for loading and unloading machinery from tilt tray trucks

NT WorkSafe has issued a Safety Alert to highlight the risk of serious crush injuries when unloading heavy machinery from tilt tray trucks when available safety equipment isn’t used.

The alert comes after a worker received serious crush injuries attempting to unload a 2.7 tonne utility compactor.

The alert outlines a number of recommendations businesses and workers should follow to prevent a similar incident from occurring.
