Work Health Authority stepping down from role
The Northern Territory’s Work Health Authority, Ms Peggy Cheong is stepping down from the role after leading NT WorkSafe for over two years.
Ms Cheong has accepted the position of Deputy WHS Commissioner of WorkSafe ACT and is relocating to Canberra to be closer to family, ending her 37 years stint as a Territorian.
Ms Cheong’s last day is Friday 11 April 2025.
Ms Kerry Barnaart, Director Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation with NT WorkSafe, has been appointed Acting Work Health Authority while the recruitment is completed to permanently fill the role.
Ms Barnaart has over 20 years’ experience in NT WorkSafe having previously worked in various roles in the work health and safety side of the agency, including as the Chief Investigator.
