Safety alert issued after road trench plate crushes and amputated worker’s thumb

NT WorkSafe has issued a Safety Alert is to highlight the dangers of using improvised lifting techniques with an excavator’s dipper arm to move heavy objects.

The alert comes as a civil construction worker lost their thumb at a Palmerston worksite in last month.
