Explosives Regulation in Australia - Public comment period now open
Businesses, industries, workers and the wider community are encouraged to express their views about how explosives are regulated across Australia and on any issues differences in explosives legislation across Australian jurisdictions may have for them. They can do this by making a submission on the 'Explosives Regulation in Australia: Discussion Paper and Consultation Regulation Impact Statement.
The input received through this public comment process will help inform policy options and shape advice to ministers on the future regulation of explosives.
Safe Work Australia is progressing this work on behalf of Work Health and Safety Ministers who the Council of Australian Governments asked to progress greater consistency of explosives regulation, where there are clear benefits to be derived.
Explosives regulation affects everyone who is involved with the import, manufacture, transport, storage, supply, use and export of explosives in Australia.
The public comment period closes at 5.30pm AEST, Thursday 10 September 2015.
