Information available for home renovators to manage asbestos risk
Residents in the Palmerston and Rural areas who have home renovation plans over the Easter long weekend should head down to the Palmerston Library’s Information Hub sessions for important information on asbestos.
WorkSafe Inspectors will be at the Palmerston Library Information Hub this Friday from 10.00am to 12.00pm to provide information on asbestos in residential buildings.
If your home was built before 1990, your home may contain asbestos.
Asbestos materials that are in good condition and left undisturbed and intact are not dangerous.
However, if you are renovating, demolishing or doing general home maintenance you need to be aware that asbestos fibres and dust pose a serious health risk.
