Online Electrical Certificate of Compliance now available for use
The online Electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC) is now available for licenced Northern Territory electrical contractors and workers to use.
This service is free via the online government services.
To use the online CoC, you will need a unique PIN that will be sent to the mobile phone number associated with your licence in the electrical licensing database.
Make sure your contact details are up to date before you begin.
Approved Electrical Certificates of Compliance
The two CoC forms approved by Electrical Safety Regulator are:
- The new online electrical certificate of compliance.
- The hard copy CoC books available from the Territory Business Centre.
The downloadable pdf of the CoC that was published as a temporary measure when the online CoC was unavailable will only be accepted and approved up to and including 9 November 2024.
CoC's generated from job management apps such as ServiceM8 will not be accepted now that the online electrical certificate of compliance is available.
Information on CoC’s is available on the NT WorkSafe website.
Automatic Mutual Recognition
Electrical licence holders working in the Northern Territory under their home jurisdiction licence under automatic mutual recognition (AMR) will not be able to use the online CoC as their licence details cannot be validated in the Northern Territory Electrical Licence database.
AMR licence holders are required to use the hard copy CoC books available for purchase from the Territory Business Centre.
