What happened?

For LPG cylinders fitted with Bromic brand stainless steel flexible pigtails, under extreme conditions there is the possibility for the end fitting that is connected to the regulator or cylinder valve to separate from the host assembly.

Key issue

The pigtails in questions can be identified by the red label with the following details:

Brand:Bromic
Manufacturing year listed as:2011 or 2012
Approval Number:AGA 6223.

What to do

All persons refilling LPG cylinders are requested to pay particular attention to integrity of Bromic flexible stainless steel pigtails fitting the above description.

If flexible pigtails are seen to exhibit any sign of potential separation or any concern exists regarding the flexible pigtails, they are to be replaced. If equivalent copper pigtails are presented during inspection, changeover should be immediately completed. If not, contact should be made to Bromic (as per below) for supply of equivalent copper or alternate flexible pigtail replacements.
