New Council Members 2023 - 2025

New Council Members were welcomed by the Chair.  The Minister has appointed the following as members to the Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Advisory Council for a term of 2 years expiring 18 March 2025:

  • Ms Catherine Spurr (Chair)
  • Mr Robert Moffat (Deputy Chair)
  • Mr Brett Hagan
  • Ms Erina Early
  • Mr Colin Chilcott
  • Mr Llewellyn Jones
  • Ms Chrystalla Yiannitsaros
  • Dr Bernard Westley

Ms Peggy Cheong is the ex-officio Work Health Authority and is a member of the committee.

ICT System at end of life

The Council discussed the implications of the ICT System used by NT WorkSafe to receive and store critical data for workers compensation being at end of life and not being able to have any updates due to its age.

Council members agreed that this is a critical priority to address as the ageing database is not able to be amended to keep up with the requirements for both jurisdictional and national reporting requirements.

Insurer members on the Council will seek support from the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) to recognise this as a critical priority.  The Council agreed that this would remain a standing agenda item for future meetings.

The next meeting is scheduled for10 August 2023.
