Changes to the Northern Territory’s Anti-Discrimination Act 1992 will come into effect in January 2025 introducing a positive duty to eliminate discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation to the greatest extent possible at work.

A reactive response to addressing discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation after the event is no longer an acceptable approach to stamp out such behaviour.

Positive duty is relevant to all workplaces as inappropriate conduct such as discrimination, sexual harassment and victimisation are significant psychosocial hazards that are risks to a worker’s health and safety.

The webinar will cover how the positive duty requirement will apply under the work health and safety laws and what proactive actions may need to be taken by employers to ensure that they are compliant.
