Latest amendments to the Work Health and Safety Regulations
Amendments have been made to the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Regulations 2011, which will take effect from 22 December 2023.
The principal amendment is the introduction of Regulation 184A which establishes a new duty to prevent uncontrolled processing of engineered stone.
The amendment makes it an offence to not have controls in place for working with engineered stone. The amendment also provides guidance on what controls would look like and will further protect workers from exposure to silica dust.
Other changes to the Regulations include updating the references to Australian Standards to their latest editions.
Further information can be found on the summary of amendments page.
