Solar PV installation over 30 KW

Your attention is drawn to the 2016 release of the ASNZS4777.1 standard specifically section 3.4.4.3 Central voltage and frequency protection requirements. This standard was introduced in September 2016 and enacted as of March 2017.

Recent inspections have identified that mandatory Grid Protection Devices (section 3.4.4.3) are not being consistently installed in Solar PV installations over 30kVA. These devices have been a mandatory requirement since March 2017.

This Grid Protection Device is required for all solar PV installations over 30 kVA and is in addition to any inverter integrated protection i.e. anti-islanding.
