Work Health and Safety Advisory Council
The Work Health and Safety Advisory Council (the Council) is established under Schedule 2 of the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 (the Act).
The functions of the Council is to:
- keep under review the operation of the Act;
- make recommendations to the Minister on possible changes to the administration of the Act or standards of work health and safety in the Northern Territory.
The Council is a tripartite body with representatives from industry sectors, worker and employer organisations. The Council may establish committees as required to assist it to carry out its functions.
Reporting
The Council produces an Annual Report which provides a summary of the Council's activities and the operation of the Act during that year for the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.

Employers, workers and industry groups can bring work health and safety issues to the attention of the Council by contacting members or the Council Secretariat listed below.
