Feedback sought on amendments to laws to introduce industrial manslaughter
The Economic Policy Scrutiny Committee is seeking comments and feedback on the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Amendment Bill 2019 which will introduce the new offence of industrial manslaughter.

Construction companies plead guilty over 3-metre fall
The Darwin Local Court has convicted and fined two construction companies over a 2017 incident, which resulted in a 31 year old worker falling 3-metres onto a concrete floor.

Company and director fined for obstructing WorkSafe investigation
Queensland based labour hire company Tropickist Pty Ltd and company director David O’Brien were both convicted and fined a total of $13,000 in the Darwin Local Court on 3 July 2019, after pleading guilty to breaching Section 155 (5) of the Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011.
Alice Springs fuel company charged over truck driver’s death
NT WorkSafe has charged Indervon Pty Ltd (Indervon), an Alice Springs fuel distribution company over the death of a 51-year-old fuel truck driver in 2017.
